Combinaison Stand 21 originale portée par Stefan Johansson en 1990 avec McLaren-Honda en qualité de pilote d'essai ponctuel (non officiel), basé sur son expérience et sa fiabilité plutôt qu'un poste à temps plein.
Johansson a notamment effectué des tests du moteur Honda V12 à Suzuka et a notamment aidé au développement d'un système de boite de vitesses semi-automatique à palettes et d'une nouvelle boite de vitesse.

He conducted testing at the Suzuka Circuit with the Honda V12 engine. He particularly contributed to the development of a semi-automatic paddle-shift gearbox system and a new transmission.
