Combinaison Simpson originale portée par Elio de Angelis en 1982 avec Lotus, très probablement entre le Grand Prix des Etats-Unis Est (Detroit) et les qualifications du Grand Prix d'Autriche. Les sponsors ont ensuite été retirés pour être utilisés sur une nouvelle combinaison. Nous voyons toujours la trace de leur emplacement:
 
- Poitrine côté droit au dessus du nom : grand patch circulaire
JPS
- Poitrine côté coeur: Tissot et Goodyear juste en dessous
- Bras gauche sous Simpson: Valvoline
- Bras droit: NGK Spark Plugs
- Au dos: grand patch circulaire JPS tout en haut et John Player Team Lotus en dessous.
 
La combinaison présente de nombreuses marques/traces d'utilisation.

Original Simpson race suit used by Elio de Angelis with Lotus in 1982, probably between the United States Grand Prix West (Detroit) and the qualifying session of the Austrian GP. Every sponsor has been then removed and added to a brand new suit for the rest of the season. We can still see where they were originally positionned:
 
- Right side of the chest, above Elio's name: a large JPS patch
- Chest, heart side: Tissot and Goodyear
- Left arm under Simpson: Valvoline
- Right arm: NGK Spark Plugs
- Back: a large JPS patch on top and John Player Team Lotus just below
 
The suit shows heavily marks of use and is a fantastic piece of Formula One history.
